{"id":5339,"date":"2012-09-20T07:26:45","date_gmt":"2012-09-20T14:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/?p=5339"},"modified":"2020-10-06T11:17:24","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T18:17:24","slug":"themed-potato-bar-party-ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/themed-potato-bar-party-ideas\/","title":{"rendered":"Themed Potato Bar Party Ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love to throw parties at my house, but I don&#8217;t like to be stuck in the kitchen preparing a meal for everyone else and totally miss out on the fun.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s necessary to host a buffet style type of gathering.<\/p>\n<p>One of my favorite types of food spread happens to be a Potato Bar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5344\" title=\"Themed Potato Bar Party Ideas!\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC02004-700x700.jpg\" alt=\"Three plates with a baked potato on each with a variety of toppings\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Just think of how easy it is to throw a bunch of potatoes in the oven and then set out all sorts of delicious toppings for your guests to fill up their potatoes with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s extremely easy if you use my <strong><em>no-fail<\/em><\/strong> tutorial on <a href=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/how-to-wednesday-baking-a-potato\/\">How To Bake a Potato<\/a> (which come out just like Outback Steakhouse Potatoes).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you&#8217;re looking for topping ideas, then here are three different &#8220;themes&#8221; that you can use. I like to just set out a whole bunch of different toppings to let my guests create their own unique potato too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5342\" title=\"The Mexican Potato\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01985-700x701.jpg\" alt=\"A baked potato on a green plate with a Mexican themed potato bar toppings\" width=\"700\" height=\"701\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One of my favorites has got to be <strong>The Mexican Potato<\/strong>. So spicy and extremely tasty!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Toppings to Consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jarred queso cheese<\/li>\n<li>Salsa<\/li>\n<li>Sour Cream<\/li>\n<li>Guacamole<\/li>\n<li>Jalapenos<\/li>\n<li>Diced Tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>Diced Onion<\/li>\n<li>Green Onion<\/li>\n<li>Ranch Dressing (trust me&#8230;it&#8217;s delicious)<\/li>\n<li>Black Olives<\/li>\n<li>Black Beans<\/li>\n<li>Butter<\/li>\n<li>Salt and Pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5341\" title=\"The Greek Potato\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01967-700x701.jpg\" alt=\"A baked potato on a green plate with a Greek themed potato bar toppings\" width=\"560\" height=\"561\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You should know by now that I am a huge fan of Greek food. So it&#8217;s no surprise that I love <strong>The Greek Potato<\/strong>. When you are preparing the potato to be baked, brush it with an olive oil mixture that is infused with some Oregano from Gourmet Gardens, then sprinkle with salt and continue to bake.
