{"id":5262,"date":"2012-09-11T10:38:42","date_gmt":"2012-09-11T17:38:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/?p=5262"},"modified":"2020-10-06T11:16:44","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T18:16:44","slug":"an-impromptu-birthday-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/an-impromptu-birthday-party\/","title":{"rendered":"An Impromptu Birthday Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a week my oldest will be 8 years old. <em>{gasp!}<\/em>\u00a0We have been so busy these past few weeks that I have not had time to think of birthday parties or any type of celebration.<\/p>\n<p>But I wanted to do something special for her, because I believe that <em>ALL<\/em> birthdays are special.<\/p>\n<p>I decided on a surprise after-school \u00a0get-together with a few of her friends from her old school.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind, I decided this about 3 hours before she was getting home from school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5267\" title=\"Nestle Toll House Birthday Sugar Cookies\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01608-700x700.jpg\" alt=\"A package of raw Toll House Birthday Sugar Cookies on a table surrounded by birthday party table decor\" width=\"504\" height=\"504\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">[Insert Pinterest and Nestle Toll House here]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I quickly ran to Walmart and picked up some supplies to have a fun Flower Party for my big girl. While I spent the majority of my time setting up the decorations and getting the crafts ready, it only took me 5 minutes to prepare the treats.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5268\" title=\"Birthday Sugar Cookies\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01619-700x465.jpg\" alt=\"Sugar cookies on a pan\" width=\"560\" height=\"372\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These adorable sugar cookies from Nestle make have an impromptu birthday party easy! Plus they are adorable with their pre-cut shapes and designs printed right on top.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5263\" title=\"Nestle Birthday Sugar Cookies\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01635-700x700.jpg\" alt=\"A plate of sugar cookies on a party plate surrounded by party birthday table decor\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The girls absolutely loved these cookies, which was a blessing for me. I didn&#8217;t have to spend tons of time in the kitchen and could focus on throwing a spectacular party for some energetic 8 year-olds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5266\" title=\"nestle cookies party\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/nestle-cookies-700x466.jpg\" alt=\"Various pictures from a birthday party\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We did some fun crafts like painting flowers on t-shirts, and making tissue paper flowers. The girls danced, and talked about boys&#8230;\u00a0<em>{oh boy}.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I put some silk flowers in vases for the center pieces, and decorated with balloon flowers, paper flowers with cupcake liners (for the center) filled with skittles. Punch was served out of some adorable watering cans, and of course there was cookies!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5264\" title=\"Cookies and Punch\" src=\"https:\/\/iwashyoudry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC01643-700x700.jpg\" alt=\"A look down on a plate of sugar cookies on a party plate surrounded by party birthday table decor\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I think my favorite part about these cookies was when the girls would say stuff like, &#8220;I&#8217;m going to have a piece of cake.&#8221; Then they would grab a cookie that had a picture of a slice of cake on it.
