The other day my sister-in-law asked me if it was expensive to cook the way I do.

I was shocked {for a couple of reasons}!!

By cooking and planning my meals the way I do, I am actually saving money! Not only do I save, but I am also making healthy choices for me and my family.

That made me think…

I want to challenge everyone out there to meal planning and budgeting! Look over your finances and find a weekly amount you can allot towards groceries.

Here’s the hard part….

Stick to it!

My budget is $100 a week for all my groceries and eating out. (Not including dates…those have a separate category on our budget!)

Every week I sit down and write out my menu for the week. (I try to plan it according to what I have on hand, so I am spending the least amount at the store)

Sunday- Surf and Turf Skewers with Roasted Corn on the Cob, Peppers and Onions

Monday- Halibut Ceviche

Tuesday- Greek Chicken Orzo Skillet

Wednesday- Pasta with Homemade Turkey Meatballs

Thursday- Chili Chicken Stir Fry

Friday- Left overs

Saturday- Breakfast burritos with Fresh Fruit

Finally I get a list pad and make my grocery list, and off I go!
