First of all, let me just say, “Happy Mother’s Day!” to all my lovely mama’s out there!<\/div>\n
\u00a0I got a new gizmo for my Mother’s Day, and I couldn’t wait to try it out! An ice cream maker!<\/span><\/em><\/strong> It’s an electric one made by Cuisinart.\u00a0It is so simple and easy to use, I am sure we are going to use it at least once a week here. It not only makes ice cream, but it also does frozen yogurt and sorbet! Also, very affordable for only $29.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond!<\/a><\/em><\/div>\n

I thought I would try to make a cool refreshing treat of Kiwi Sorbet. Here’s what you’ll need if you want to make it too:<\/div>\n

1 cup water<\/span>
\n1\/2 cup sugar<\/span>
\n6-7 ripe Kiwi<\/span>
\n2 tbsp Lemon Juice<\/span>
\nStart by peeling the brown furry-ness off, and giving it a nice chop.<\/p>\n

Then put all the kiwi into a food processor or blender and puree to make about 2 cups.<\/p>\n

In a small sauce pan bring the 1 cup water and 1\/2 cup sugar to a boil to make a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool. ( I poured the syrup into a glass measuring cup and put that into an ice bath to hurry up the cool down time).<\/em><\/div>\n

Pour your kiwi puree, syrup, and 2 tbsp lemon juice\u00a0into the ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For mine, you just turn it on and wait about 25-30 min, then…..<\/div>\n
